Sunday Suppers

In the control freak house we have home cooked meals 5 to 6 days out of the week. Even better, we very rarely throw food out. What’s the key to our success? No we haven’t found extra hours in the day, we menu plan which dictates our grocery list. Here’s a sample menu for a week of suppers in the control freak house. Note because we grocery shop on Tuesdays, the menu starts on Tuesday:

  • Tuesday: healthy eats from Wegmans prior to grocery shopping
  • Wednesday: homemade breaded ranch chicken tenders, garlic roasted broccoli, baked sweet potato
  • Thursday: naan bread pizza topped with mushrooms, onion, and tomato, baked cauliflower on the side
  • Friday: take out or go out
  • Saturday: grilled sirloin steak, baked butternut squash, mozzarella cheese and tomato marinated in balsamic vinegar
  • Sunday: Portobello mushroom burger, sweet potato fries, fruit and a pickle
  • Monday: leftovers

*don’t let leftovers go to waste, pack them for lunch the next day as you are cleaning up after dinner
