Sunday Suppers: Open Face Cheese Sandwich

Sunday Suppers

Nothing fancy!  But this is a great standby for any meal of the day.

Prep and Cook Time: 10 minutes tops!

Ingredients:

  • Bread or sandwich thins of your choice
  • Cheese of your choice
  • Toppings: Onions, Tomato, Mushroom, Avocado, etc. (whatever you’d like!)
  • Pepper and a sprinkle of Garlic Powder

First, pull your ingredients together then dress your bread with your cheese first and toppings second. I do not put any butter or mayo, just plain bread.  *Tip* If you have a lot of toppings place a slice of cheese over top of them, it will keep them from falling off once the cheese melts.

Second, place the dressed open-faced sandwich on a piece of foil, baking sheet, or pizza stone under the broiler.  These cook quickly so watch for the cheese to get bubbly and golden around the edges.

Cheese Sandwich Put Together

Voila!  A quick meal that is pretty healthy.  Serve with veggies, side salad, or fruit.  Served below with our new favorite fruit, Juan Canary Melon, we love it better than cantaloupe and honeydew.
