Spread the Wealth…of Tasks

When did weekends become days to check off your to-do-list?  Weren’t they made to relax and have fun!  In our new parental unit roles, Chad and I have quickly discovered that while week days seem like a marathon the weekends have become the fourth quarter of a football game where we are rushing to tackle all the moving parts.  Well, we’re throwing in the towel.  Enough is enough!  We are taking our weekends back!

It comes down to a simple question.  Would you rather be doing your chores during the week or on the weekend?  Chad said neither, but we don’t have a maid so that’s not an option.  While the week days are chaotic enough, we’d rather spread the wealth of chores and tasks amongst the five days versus have them suck up our entire weekend of quality family time or perhaps the opportunity to start and finish a larger project.

Starting this week we are trying just this.  In addition we are trying to get back into a routine workout schedule.  Our lives are becoming way more scheduled than I had even ever imagined, I know a control freak’s dream.  This may appear crazy to most people, but building a schedule works!  And if it helps us keep our heads on straight, well then, I’m boarding that crazy train.  Here’s what our week is looking like, wish us luck!
